This is probably going to be one of the easiest iPhone app reviews I've ever done. The reason that this is going to be easy is because this app is basic, does one thing and does it well!

PayPal

It's hard to do a lot of eCommerce without having a PayPal account. This is especially true if you do a lot of eBay transactions. I've used PayPal for years with little to no problems to speak of. Although the fees can sometimes be annoying (let's not get that debate going here), the benefits outweigh the pain. When I want to send money to someone as a loan, gift or to pay for a service or product I'll sometimes use PayPal because it's just easier.

The PayPal app allows you to send money via your PayPal account to any other PayPal account holder. All you need to know is the email address of the person that you want to send the money to.

The first thing you do is log in using your PayPal user name and password. You then key in the email address or pull it from one of your contacts. You key in the amount you want to send and an optional note if you like. Next you hit Continue to confirm the details and then you send it! Done! The recipient will receive an email as usual and the money will be in their account.

You can also use the PayPal app just to check your PayPal balance and see the history of your transactions.

The Bottom Line

The PayPal app is FREE and a nice companion if you use PayPal. I've ended up using this app more than I thought I would when I first download it. Like I said, it's basic and probably the only thing I would add to my wishlist would be the ability to also "Withdraw" funds. In other words If I got an email saying that someone sent me money, I would like to use the app to go ahead and transfer that money to my bank account. Currently you would have to log in to the website to do that.

Otherwise, the app does the things I want it to do. You can download the PayPal app here from the App Store PayPal.
