It's not uncommon to see two people do a fist bump these days. It's become another one of this "high fives" of our culture. Well there's an App for that. Bump allows you to pass information from one iPhone/iPod touch by simply "bumping" iPhone holding fists together.
It would be great if everyone had this
This is one of those apps that's great as long as the people you want to share information with have it. Luckily it's free and a quick download. You can configure it to exactly which pieces of information you want passed to the other person. For example maybe you want to give them your Name, contact photo and email address, but not your home address. No problem just turn on or off the things you want transferred.
Not just for your contact info
You can also you bump to pass over any contact in your Contact list or photos. This is a great way to share information wirelessly. It does require an internet connection either over 3G or WiFi. It automatically detects users in the same vicinity running the app and connecting.

A social aspect
Bump has a connection to Facebook to update your status with people you bump with and alert you if they are not currently your Facebook friends. Also Bump has a compare feature to compare contacts on the two devices.

The Bottom Line
Bump is neat and actually this is functionality that should be built right in to the OS. Since it's pushing the info up to the "cloud" it means you have to be online to do this and of course you have to trust that your information will not be harvested. Bump Technologies swears that they aren't holding on to any of your info. Until the day that this feature is built-in to the OS I encourage everyone to download this app and be ready to Bump.
Bump
Bump allows you to swap contact information with a fellow iPhone/iPod touch user by simply launching the app on both devices and slightly bumping fists (holding the devices) together.

This is very cool. It’s one thing I miss from my Palm days.
