Things for ipad

We all have our favorite to-do list system and mine is Things from Cultured Code. I use their Mac client and a few months ago I reviewed Things for the iPhone here on BestAppSite. Since then, the iPad has gotten released and they have had an iPad version of Things out almost since the beginning. I thought today that it is high time to give Things for iPad a review.

Interface

Part of why Things is so great is its gorgeous interface. I would go as far as saying that half of Things is its interface. Throughout all the platforms it is gorgeous to look at, but I must say that the iPad beats both the iPhone and the Mac with the most beautiful Things version to date.

Navigating around the application is simple and it works well in both landscape and portrait mode. Controls are simple which makes managing your to-dos equally easy.

CourseNotes for iPad: Note-taking for Students

CourseNotes

I would like to think that my iPad could eliminate the need for me to carry different note pads with me to several of my classes, instead taking “just” my iPad. While browsing the App Store a couple of weeks ago, I found an app which looked very promising for this, CourseNotes.

Good Looking and User Friendly Interface

One of the reasons why I decided to give CourseNotes a go was that it looked well from the screenshots and the app icon. After using the app for two weeks now to see how well it works I have found the interface to be helpful to me in that it allows me to find what I need quickly. This is essential when in a class as to not miss out on anything because you wanted to say, start a new note.

Managing Subjects and Creating Notes

Setting up CourseNotes, you can add all the subjects you wish to take notes for. Each subject can have an icon attached to it so that you can visualize which one it is quickly. This course setup screen also lets you type in your instructors name and also a subject website (if there is one).

WordPress: Blogging On The Go

WordPress: Blogging On The GoContent management systems need applications for smartphones. It is just that simple. As an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad owner using WordPress, you will be pleased to know that an application for WordPress is available to make it easy for you to publish to your blog(s).

Interface

Looking at the WordPress app and its interface, you are not in for the special piece of art but you are not in for a bad one either. Interface wise, the designers have gone with all the usual iOS styles to make an app which is very easy to use and looks the way you would expect a general iOS app to look.

Functionality

Managing multiple blogs is not a problem in the WordPress app. On the front screen you can tab the plus button and add as many blogs as you want to be able to write to (or edit) from within the app.

WhatsApp: Free Text Messages Over Data to iPhones

Text messages have become a major part of our lives. Just ask yourself, how much do you call people nowadays compared to some years ago? Here in Sweden, text messages are relatively reasonably priced and it is beyond me how US carries can charge a user to receive a text message.

As iPhone users we are lucky to have data access at our fingertips a feature that easily replaces text messages. Here is one of my favorite applications for replicating text messages between iPhones using Whats App.

Interface

Upon launching Whats App you will recognize yourself in a friendly Apple-esque design, utilizing all the common user interface styles.

Messages are displayed in a list, not at all unlike the default Messages app. You have one conversation group per person with the entire conversation listed inside in the familiar bubbles, the cross between text messages and an instant messaging app.

Camera+: Photos, photos, photos…

Camera+There is no shortage of photo editing applications for the iPhone and we have sure reviewed plenty of apps before here on BestAppSite.

This app, Camera+ is a new one, made by tap tap tap who are known to make some quality applications and behind the apps effect, is photographer Lisa Bettany.

User Interface Design

Camera+ is an application that has been thoroughly designed and because of that has a gorgeous interface. Graphics are crisp and good looking and looks even more beautiful on the iPhone 4 on the retina display.

Overall, it is a nicely laid out app, that is easy to use both for taking photos and editing them (more on that next).
