Marketcircle has today announced that their Billings Touch application is now available on the App Store. The app is an iPhone client for their Mac application, also with the name Billings, that lets you track time that you've worked on projects, handle estimates and invoicing to clients.
The app is free from the store but if you want the WiFi-syncing with the desktop application, there is an in-app purchase with the cost of $15.
It's that time of year again where I get to choose my picks for the Hottest, Baddest Apps of Year! There were certainly several great apps this year, but I had to narrow it down to this list of KILLER APPS! These apps are the Best of the Best and either are extremely useful, additively entertaining or really push the envelope of the iPhone/iPod touch platform. So in no particular order…

RedLaserRedLaser is an amazing app from a technology standpoint and it was one of the hottest selling apps of 2009! With redlaser your iPhone becomes a barcode scanner that looks up the price of an item scan from multiple sources over the internet. They even added a "Local" category to find the item at local vendors based on your current location. Comparison shopping has never been better! See my original review here. Best Camera (recently reviewed here), just updated to offer Flickr upload support. Best Camera was already my choice for photo sharing app on the iPhone because of its ability to upload to both Facebook and Twitter at the same time. Adding Flickr support adds icing to the cake for an already great social networking feature set. Not only can you upload to Flickr, but you can also choose which Photo Set (album) to upload to. You can even create new Photo Sets on the fly. As with the Facebook and Twitter support you can add a title to the photo and description before uploading. You can also utilize Flickr's privacy controls in marking a photo for viewing by the general Public, Friends, Family, Friends and Family or Private.

It seems that O2 is also reporting reception issues for their network, especially in the London area. Their head, Ronan Dunne says that they are working on some solution and apologizes for the service since the launch of the iPhone 3GS this summer.
"Where we haven't met our own high standards then there's no question, we apologise to customers for that fact,"
This definitely leaves hope that they will improve the reception shortly, whereas AT&T over in the US have yet to make much promises for their customers.

For a long time, the LinkedIn app has been kind of useless. Well, at least not useful enough to be using it a whole lot to keep up with LinkedIn. Now, it has received an update which brings it to a whole new level.
The new update, applies a bit of "Facebook-style" to the app, with a homescreen inspired by the Facebook app, also out in the App Store. It makes it easy to now browse through most of the LinkedIn areas, with just the main feed being available before.
The app can be downloaded from the App Store and the update gotten from the updates. It is fully free.
Seems like only yesterday that I reviewed PhotoAssist. In that review I basically asked for 3 features to make an already good app better and what do you know? I got my wish! PhotoAssist just got updated to 1.1 and adds the 3 things I wanted: Larger Check buttons (for my fingers), the ability to add to the inventory from a list of common camera gear without having to add everything in manually and an Uncheck All/Check All button. I also like the new color scheme which is easier on the eyes. Great job Brad!

Not to be out done by TomTom, Magellan has announced their own Car Kit to be used in conjunction with their Turn-by-Turn GPS Navigation app (or any other GPS Navigation app).

Here's what the $129.99 car kit will give you:
- Secure vehicle mounting for your iPhone or iPod touch
- Accommodates most silicon skins and hard shell cases
- Adjustable mount securely rotates iPhone to either portrait or landscape mode for optimal positioning and widescreen routedisplay
- Recharges battery via the vehicle power outlet
- Amplified speaker with volume control for loud and clear phone calls and directions
- Noise canceling microphone for full duplex speakerphone operation
- Auxiliary audio output (for connection to your car stereo)
- Works will all navigation applications (including the Magellan RoadMate for iPhone application)
- Bluetooth enables hands-free calling
It's great that it will work with ANY iPhone GPS navigation app and as added bonus it enables iPod touch 2G users to use these apps because the car kit itself has a GPS receiver in it. More details and pre-order info here.
You can check out the Magellan Navigation App here on the App Store:
I'm still amazed that these car kits cost as much as full blown GPS units on the lower end the spectrum, but I guess the market will drive the price accordingly. If they sell, the price will remain the same, if not…

If you have an EyeTV for your Mac and have had the EyeTV iPhone app, you have had the ability to over WiFi stream live or recorded shows from your computer. What they have announced today, sweetens it quite a bit. Through their brand new Live3G website, they are now providing live streaming to your iPhone through mobile Safari, through HTTP live streaming. What this means is that you will be able, just by logging in through Safari, watch and stream all of your EyeTV content to your iPhone and watch live TV. All you need to do beforehand is update to EyeTV 3.3 (which is free for current EyeTV owners). What this also means is that you can through the TV Out cable, connect your iPhone to a TV and watch videos streaming over 3G from your iPhone, since mobile safari can output to TVs (something that normal apps cannot).
