When it comes to voice recognition technology it either works well with my voice or it doesn't. There really isn't anything that I've tried that kinda works. Luckily for me Dragon Dictation falls into the "it works well for me" category. I was stunned actually by just how accurate this app is with my voice. As a matter of fact you can see it action in this video:

The Privacy Controversy
When this app first came out, users were up in arms because I guess it was buried in the fine print of the user license that the app would upload the "names" of your contacts to achieve better voice recognition. Users complained that Nuance should have been more open by putting that text in plain english on the App Store page. Well Nuance not only did that, but in this latest version they took it a step further and made it very clear when you first launch the app what it uploads and what it doesn't AND they now give you the option of NOT having it upload this data. So hopefully that will put people's privacy fears to rest.
The Bottom Line
This App is FREE for a limited time and with the privacy thing taken care of, if I were you I would download it right now. So far for me it works GREAT! You can get Dragon Dictation here from the App Store:

It seems to work very well. I hope that it stays free, or at least updates free.
Now Dragon Search is available. Looks pretty good.
Won’t even install on an iPod Touch, even though you can certainly use a mic with other apps like Skype, Very strange, and I can't see any technical reason for this, the latest generation Touch certainly has a fast enough processor.
Does anyone know when this will be available in the Australian store?
This is the most amazing app, no more trying to type long missives and the best part is it actually interprets what you are saying correctly!
