iOS has a pretty good Reminder feature and you can set up Calendar appointments that alarm as well. So it’s not too hard to remember or be reminded of important events such as birthdays and anniversaries. With Next Messaging you can not only be reminded to send an SMS text message, but you can compose it ahead of time so that when the reminder pops up all you have to do is send it. The concept of this App is pretty simple. When you launch Next Messaging the first thing you do is choose the contact that you want to send your SMS to.You can choose multiple contacts or simply enter phone numbers. Then you compose the text that you want to send. Lastly and here’s the key feature, you set the date and time that you want to be reminded to send this text in the future. When that date and time arrives you’ll get a push notification and once you tap/swipe on it you’ll be taken to the Messages App with your contact and message already filled in. All you have to do is hit send.

Not bad, but it could be better

iMessages is much more capable than just SMS text. The 1st thing that I was a little taken back by in this App was that while it allowed me to choose a contact from my Address Book, I didn’t see a way to choose a specific number for that contact. This isn’t a problem unless your contact has more than one mobile number and some of mine do. The other thing that I didn’t see was a way to send pictures or other media besides text.

The Bottom Line

This App performs as advertised and gives you a quick easy way to not only be reminded to send a text message, but the ability to compose your message ahead of time and then tap to send when the time comes. Hoping to see more features in an upcoming update.
